You're finally visiting Mumbai, Bollywood City. But there's a catch: you have only one day. (Hey, you've always heard that things move fast here—why not you?)
Your tour specialist will meet you at your hotel lobby in Mumbai. Your tour will begin by visiting Gateway of India, built to welcome King George V and Queen Mary into India. Just around the corner is the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The hotel's original building was commissioned by Jamshedji Tata and first opened its doors to guests on December 16th, 1903.
Then, visit Mumbai University (a British heritage building built in 1857), Rajabai Clock Towers (the Big Ben of India), Watson's Hotel Ruins (Tata was refused an entry in this hotel so he built Taj Mahal Hotel), Oval Cricket Ground (a place where Indians play the most beloved sport of India) and Bombay High Court (a beautiful British heritage building).
After a short drive you will come across Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station (a UNESCO world heritage site). You will also see Asia’s largest open air laundry “Dhobi Ghat”, and then move on to see Mahatma Gandhi's residence in Mumbai: Mani Bhavan. On your way you will see the Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque located on an islet off the coast of Mumbai.
You will then visit the Jain temple, Banganga tank and also Kamala Nehru Park at Malabar Hill which is the best point in the city to view the sky line of Mumbai. You will also take a drive along Marine Drive, drive past many British Heritage Buildings like the Prince of Wales Museum, the Maharashtra Police Headquarters, the Flora Fountain & Hutatma Chowk, the Telegraph Office, the India Post Office Building, the Kala Ghoda Area, David Sasoon's Library and the National Gallery of Modern Art.
At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel in Mumbai.
