Visit the best of Monteverde cloud forests with an experienced, seasoned private guide. A private tour provides flexibility of timing, duration, and trail choice. This option is great for families with children, and anyone who would like a more personal touch than a standard group tour.Your cloud forest tour starts out with pickup from your hotel. If possible, your guide will be your driver (subject to availability). The drive to the either the Monteverde Reserve, Curi Cancha, or SkyWalk bridges is anywhere from 5-20 minutes each way, depending on where you're staying. Once at the trail, you private guide will provide you with entrance fees. Before your tour you can use bathrooms and fill up a water bottle. Now begins your naturalist walk. This means that your pace will be leisurely/slow, and you'll stop frequently to listen, look for birds and wildlife, and learn about the forest from your private guide. You might encounter a quetzal, a bellbird, and maybe even monkeys. Remember - wildlife is never guaranteed!
The naturalist guided walk is not a hike meant to cover uneven terrain or distance (for hikes like this, please inquire!). During your walk, you'll cover perhaps anywhere from 1/2 a mile to 1 mile, give or take. The trails are well maintained and accessible for most people. Closed toed shoes are most appropriate. Once you finish your naturalist walk, at some trails there are hummingbird areas you can visit.
Your driver can then drop you either at your hotel, or perhaps a lunch place of your choosing, if on the way. You can also do this tour in the afternoon (best from Feb-May).
