Hoi An was considered as the budding port town of the Sa Huynh community who thrived in the region of Vietnam. It was during the 2nd to the 15th centuries that Hoi An was governed by the Champa Kingdom. Later on Hoi An turned into a commercial port town, having trade links with Arabia and China. As far as the history of Hoi An claims, the port town of Lam Ap turned into the so called Hoi An of the present day. The region flourished with Tra Kieu and My Son, the capital that had temples and towers belonging to the Champa Kingdom.
As far as the history of Hoi An goes, the settlement of Cham civilization within Hoi An was known for the presence of a Cham port that had maritime trade links. Due to the strategic location of Hoi An along the merging point of Quang Nam and due to other positive conditions, the province showed affirmative signs of development during the 16th to the 19th centuries.it was in December 4th, 1999 Hoi An was placed within the World Heritage list by UNESCO.

Firstly, we drive straight to Cham museum to explore Cham culture and history. Here everyone can understand more about ancient Cham people and Hinduism. Afterward, we move to R & R beach (or the South China Beach called by the American army), and eventually arrive at Marble Stone Village where thousands of marble stone statues are displayed and sculptured. We will take a walking tour to explore inside the ancient town of Hoi An to see three typical architectural styles of the area: The Japanese Bridge, Ancient Vietnamese Houses and Chinese Assembly Halls (similar to a parliament house) and local market. Then you do spend your time on shopping at silk shops, lantern shops for experience of handicraft villages and make tailor with reasonable price.Continue to walk to the river to see local people exchange trade alongside the river, and boats on the river. The river offers a nice setting for your photos .  On the way back Chan May Port, you will have time to visit the Hai Van Pass – Ocean and Cloud Pass – the highest pass and one of the most scenic hillside roads in Vietnam, stop on the top of the pass to take pictures and enjoy special Vietnamese coffee here.  Go back to the Chan May port. Finish the tour.

Please note: This tour involves a considerable amount of walking, mainly on flat ground. Hoi An can be crowded, so please stay with your guide. If you opt to walk independently, please alert your guide to arrange a convenient meeting point.
