Take a full-day trip from Delhi to experience the city of Agra, home of the magnanimous Taj Mahal, by private car. Upon arriving in Agra, you will have a complete day of private touring with breakfast, visits to the Taj Mahal, Agra’s noteworthy Agra Fort, the Baby Taj (Et-mad Ud Daulah) and Mehtab Bagh in the Taj’s reflection.You will be picked up in the morning from your Delhi hotel in a private car at 6:00 AM and drive to Agra (approx. 4 hours) followed up by a stop for a delicious breakfast.
Stop first at Taj Mahal, the UNESCO World Heritage Site and also a treasured example of Mughal architecture. The Taj Mahal is perhaps one of the most photographed monuments in the world and visiting the fabled Taj Mahal at dawn, you will see magical reflections of the colorful sunrise and the white marble buildings in the water.
After visiting the Taj Mahal, you will travel to the massive Agra Fort. The elegant buildings here reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. You will also explore a maze of courtyards, mosques & private chambers. After Agra Fort, you will move to the Baby Taj. Known as the jewel box, take time to admire the precious stone inlay as you listen to your guide’s commentary and learn more about the strong Persian influence on the tomb’s design. You will spend around 1 hour here.
In the evening, you will visit Mahtab Bagh and see the beautiful pools and gardens. Originally, the garden was planted with fragrant flowers and used in the cool of the night as a place from which to view the Taj Mahal’s reflection in the moonlight. At the end of the tour, sit back and relax on the drive back to Delhi.
