Hanoi full-day city tour. You will have chance to visit some highlights in Hanoi. You are picked up at your hotel for a short transfer to the historic Ba Dinh complex. Then visit the Ba Dinh Square, where the former President Ho Chi Minh read Viet Nam’s Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945. Visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (the mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays and all afternoons – if visiting during this time, you will have a look from outside the mausoleum only). Continue to visit the One-Pillar Pagoda, an ancient Buddhist pagoda built in the early 11th century during the reign of King Ly Thai Tong. The pagoda resembles a lotus blossom and gets its name from its lone support pillar. Next, we will visit the Temple of Literature, the first University for the Sons of Mandarins, for an overview about Hanoian culture and appreciation for ancient Vietnamese architecture.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant. After lunch time, drive to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and then the infamous Hoa Lo prison. The prison was known as “the Hanoi Hilton” during the American War. At the end of the trip, you will take a cyclo (rickshaw) tour for 1 hour around the “36 meandering streets” of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Return to your hotel and finish the day tour.
