Begin your tour by meeting your guide at your hotel and make your way from Zurich to Schaffhausen. Close to the train station, the old town of Schaffhausen is located. Enjoy a short walk around through the car-free streets and the historical buildings while getting information from your tourguide. Schaffhausen was the only city destroyed in world war I in 1944. After a short transfer by local bus, we'll arrive at the castle "Laufen". The castle is located directly at the Rhine waterfalls and it marks the border between the canton Zurich and Schaffhausen. We'll visit the exhibition in the castle to get a overview about the historical meaning of the waterfalls.
After the visit, we'll continue on the walking path around the castle, heading down to the waterfalls. Differend viewing platforms closed to the water ensures great views and spectacular pictures. Once we get down, we board one of the touristic boats and we'll cross the river. The next boat takes us in a spectacular ride directly in front of the Rhine waterfall, Europe's largest plain waterfall. After the boat trip, we'll relax at the shore of the Rhine river with the perfect view to the waterfall.
We'll close the tour by crossing the rhine river by boat again and returning to the train station directly at the castle of Laufen. The train ride back to Zurich will take 50 minutes, where the tour ends.
