Be picked-up by your guide from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Start the drive to El Fayoum Oasis, situated 105km (65mls) southwest of Cairo in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
Visit the third largest lake in Egypt, Birket Qarun, approximately 80km (49mls) southwest of Cairo. Keep a lookout for the many different species of birds inhabiting this large salt-water lake.
Afterward, proceed to Fayoum Museum, famous for its Roman-period mummy portraits and statues found throughout the Fayoum region.
Then, continue the drive to the waterfalls of Wadi El Rayan National park, home of the endangered slender-horned gazelle. Enjoy riding in a traditional wooden sailing boat, or "Felucca". Take a walk to snap some unforgettable photos, and have lunch at a local restaurant.
