Enjoy this private 14-hour tour of Jaipur, complete with a local guide who can give you every little detail about the amazing city of Jaipur and its historical attractions. Your tour includes all entrance fees and an elephant ride at Amber Fort.Be picked up from your hotel in Delhi at 6:00am and taken to Jaipur. Upon arrival, meet your private tour guide at the Amer Fort. Enjoy riding on the back of an elephant to and from the top of the hill where the fort is situated. The Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu-style elements. This opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with its own courtyard. The fort overlooks Maota Lake and is the main tourist attraction in Jaipur.
Later, visit Jal Mahal Palace while driving through (entry is closed to the public), located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake and surrounding Aravalli hills and the bustling city of Jaipur.
Next, visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), so named because it was built with a high screen wall so the women of the royal household could watch street festivals while unseen from the outside. Constructed of red and pink sandstone, it sits on the edge of the City Palace, and extends to the zenana, or women's chambers. After visiting Hawa Mahal, you will be taken for lunch (at own expense).
After lunch, visit the City Palace in the heart of Jaipur, which includes the Chandra and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings which are known for the blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The Chandra Mahal now houses a museum, but the largest part of it is still the royal residence. The palace complex, located north east of the center of Jaipur, incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Enjoy the fine collection of textiles, costumes and armor at the City Palace. Later in the evening you will explore a local market with your guide.
Finally, see the observatory of Jantar Mantar, built by the renowned astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh. After the tour is over, you will be taken back to Delhi and arrive at your hotel at approximately midnight.
