About one hour later, you will start your exploring the town with your guide, walking along the old small alleys full of interesting shops selling souvenirs and local delicacies and snacks and see how people live and work here, also a good place to shop and learn some bargaining skills here. Pay a visit to one of well-know garden in the town-Kezhi garden. After that take a hand-made boat along the canal to admire the beautiful Ming & Qing Dynasties traditional architectures while same time to enjoy antiquity, leisure and tranquility.
Then have a lunch break at a local authentically restaurant to try some traditional Shanghai style noodles or dumplings (at your own cost). Or stop at a nice local tea house to enjoy some local tea tasting and learn the tea culture and ceremony (both options are available upon to your own interests)
Then transfer back to The Bund area in Shanghai which is well-known as the free museum of the architecture. Along its west bank of the river, there are about 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. By taking the cruise along the Hungpu river, the view of great skyline of Shanghai is full presented in front of you and you will also learn the Shanghai’s colonial history dated back to 1840’s and the new development along the Pudong side.
