Paradise Valley Day trip starting and ending from in Marrakech to explore the beauty of the High Atlas Mountains, swim in the natural pools, experience cliff jumping and taste or cook the Berber cuisine.
Enjoy a day far away from the touristy hustle and bustle in Marrakech. The tour starts at 7am, pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech, followed by a 2.5-hour journey to get to Agadir by the highway including a picture stop in (Agadir Oufela) to enjoy the highest panoramic view over the city of Agadir.
Stop at the local market to select fresh ingredients for the Tagine which is going to be made locally at the Berber house above an open fire, and then drive for another 40 minutes or so to get to the car park for Paradise Valley. Park the car and walk for about 10 minutes to reach an incredible oasis deep in the Atlas mountains called ‘Paradise’.
Have your morning refreshments with a tasty mint tea accompanied by fresh bread (cooked in a Berber wood fire oven called Tafernout), olives oil, Amlou Jam (almonds, argan oil and honey). Next, drop the ingredients for the lunch at the Berber house and enjoy an optional Berber Tagine cooking and bread baking class, or otherwise leave the ingredients there and the family will cook it for you while you go deeper into the valley.
The Valley has freshwater waterfalls, palm trees and a perfect swimming spot. Some people wet the rocks and use them as water slides - enjoy a swim and a sunbath. After the swim you will head back to a Berber house where you have dropped off the ingredients earlier, and if you haven't participated in the cooking class, the local family will have made you a delicious tagine for lunch (lamb, chicken or vegetarian at your request) using local ingredients and some amazing spices.
You will be in the middle of nowhere, eating at a local's house - it doesn't get any more authentic than that and is a humbling experience. Transport will be in a private vehicle solely for you and your party, and mineral water is included for every passenger. You will be driven back to Marrakech in the evening.
