The driver will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00am in the morning. It takes 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall.
The Great Wall at Mutianyu is a little further from Beijing than the most popular section at Badaling, but it doesn't get crowded. This section of the Wall is fully restored, there are hand rails to help you up on the very steep parts and the views are spectacular. You will have your choice of taking a cable car (own expense) or chair lift up and spend 2-3 hours hiking on the Wall. Then you have the option of taking a toboggan ride back down or simply return the way you came.
After lunch at local dumpling restaurant, it takes a another 1.5-hour drive to the Summer Palace.
Once a summer retreat for emperors, this 716-acre park is still a retreat for the tourists, who can relax here or stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and huge lake, stopping occasionally at a shop or tea-house. Much-loved summer retreat of the Imperial families, the lovely landscaped gardens, halls, pavilions and corridors are set around the lake and rivers in natural harmony.
You will be driving back to your Beijing hotel after the Summer Palace visit.
Price is per group, based on maximum 4 adults per car/vehicle.
