Hue ancient capital city – beside the glory of the last empire in Vietnam – is also remarkable for its friendly people with agricultural daily lives and traditional occupations. Lying between the blue East Sea and endless paddy fields, Tam Giang lagoon is golden land for thousand of lives, will be land for you to have the closest approach to lives of Vietnamese people and great photos of an unique rural area in Hue.Our morning starts with bright smiles of our enthusiastic motorcycle team and tour guide who will take you firstly to “Thanh Toan’s tiled-roof”, one of oldest bridge in Vietnam with similar architecture with Japanese covered bridge in Hoi An.
You also have chance to study a variety of traditional agricultural tools that are still widely used by farmers. A lovely old lady will also entertain you with several folk songs in the Museum of traditional equipments.
Our adventure continues through charming villages with yellow paddy fields to learn how locals grow fresh mushrooms by straws only.
Truong Ha bridge, the only giant bridge that links two sides of the vast and “used to be dangerous” Tam Giang Lagoon , will be the perfect spot for you to take panoramic views of an enormous watery area in Hue. Your eyes and mind will be wide opened in An Bang’s grave yards, small village is where thousands of enormous colorful tombs are located. You will experience how important worship plays its role in Vietnamese lives.
We will then be visiting Mr. Nghiem’s house, a friendly local family where you also enjoy seasonal fruits prepared by them. He will be also boat captain to take you to Tuy Van Mountain where sacred Thanh Duyen pagoda is located. The cruise will go into the inner of Tam Giang with spectacular views of ranges of mountains surrouding blue water.
Tam Giang is home of fishermen so you will experience how they grow fish, shrimps and some other kind of seafoods. A chance that you should not miss! Once landed, it’s your journey to experience the sacred ambience of Thanh Duyen pagoda and breath-taking views from Dieu Ngu tower down to Tam Giang Lagoon.
You will be greeted again by our responsible motorcyclists to “Mam ro factory” owned by an old lady and she passed down onto her children to preserve the traditional occupation.”Mam ro” means “fish paste”, a very distinct local dish that waters your mouth when you just think about that. “Ro” fish is a specialty in this area due to its tastiness that sticks into Hue people’s mind no matter how far they have gone to. You may not like the strong smell of the fish but the old passonate lady will surprise you of a typically warm-hearted local in Hue city.
Our stop for lunch and swimming will be at Vinh Hien beach with clean water and wild views. Fresh seafood will also be served for your cuisine’s experience in Central of Vietnam. A truly get-away!
We head back to city around 16:00 for your rest in town or you can keep going to Hoi An by privately arranged bus. Tour ends.
