This day trip includes a variety of experiences, a guided walk in the valley, visits to local villages and a chance to sample local produce as well as enjoy a tasty Berber lunch in a spectacular setting.
Departing Marrakech at 08:30am you will travel up into the high valleys of the High Atlas Mountain foothills. En-route you will pass through the traditional town of Asni where local Berbers come to trade, Saturdays are particularly busy as it is the local market day. The final part of the drive to Dar Tassa is off-road up a twisting dirt track through the scenic Azzaden Valley.
In the morning enjoy a guided walk through Tassa Ouirgane village down to the Azzadene river, learn about traditional village life in a community of only 40 to 50 families and how they farm. Back at Dar Tassa you will be shown how local bread is made and have the chance to sample local produce including herbs, oil and honey. A traditional three course lunch is served on the terrace where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful views.
After lunch there is an opportunity to take a 3km walk down the valley to Kasbah Africa where tea is served. A swimming pool is available at the Kasbah so do bring your swim wear if you fancy a dip. You can opt to relax or continue your walk to Torort village where 70 families live in adobe houses on the slopes above the Azzaden river before meeting your vehicle for the transfer back to Marrakech.
