A perfect way to explore the German Alps! This full day tour begins in Munich and brings you into the heart of Bavaria; Garmisch-Partenkirchen.This full day begins at your hotel in Munich Germany. After an hour drive into the Alps we begin with a tour of the Zugspitze mountain. Standing at 2962 meters this peak provides stunning views along with amazing engineering feats, World War II history, and a glacier.  Plus, the Zugspitze is the border between Germany and Austria with observation platforms in both countries! After lunch atop the mountain we will make our way into Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the history of the Olympic Ski Stadium used in the 1936 Winter Olympics. We follow that with a tour of the famous Partnach Gorge, or Partnachklamm, and then the beautiful village of Partenkirchen. The tour ends around 5:00 p.m. in Garmisch-Partenkirchen which is a short 80 minute train ride back to the city of Munich.
