Pyramids Memphis and Sakkara from Alexandria. Leaving your hotel in Alexandria with your luxury vehicle, you will drive a total of 225 km (around 3 hours) to Cairo, Africa’s largest city. Your first stop will be at the western plateau of Giza, where a panoramic view of the only remaining wonder of the Ancient world; The Great Pyramid of king Cheops that still stands offering great opportunities for photographs. Later you will stop near the pyramids of Kephren and free time to explore the site will be allocated.
From there, you will continue down the valley where the mysterious Sphinx lies, guarding this mortuary complex in silence. Afterwards your will be driven through rural areas and cultivated fields towards Sakkara country club to the awaiting 4X4 wheeled air conditioned Jeeps for a drive into the desert, towards a designated place where a camel caravan will be waiting for you. Experienced camel drivers will lead your camel on a trip in a desert caravan formation. Feel the desert wind in your hair and sway to the motion of your camel as it strides in leisurely pace through the naked beauty of desolate and harsh environment. Capture the spirit of the Bedouin as you cross towards Sakkara Country club. Here, a country club style lunch will be served for your enjoyment.
Later on you will board your vehicle and proceed to Sakkara, the necropolis for the Ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. Saqqara features numerous pyramids, including the world famous Step pyramid of Zoser, sometimes referred to as the Step Tomb due to its rectangular base, as well as a number of mastabas. Return to Cairo and visit the Papyrus institute where a demonstration will introduce you to the art of papyrus making from reeds, a technique discovered by the ancient Egyptian. Free time for souvenir shopping will also be allocated before you commence your return drive to Alexandria.
