This private day tour not only enable you to be in close contact with adorable pandas but also offers a rare opportunity for you to hold one in your arms and have a picture or video taken during this unique experience. Please book early to secure availability for panda holding as there are only 30 lucky tourists allowed each day to get up-close and personal with these cute furry bears.At 8:30am, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your centrally located hotel in Chengdu and drive to the Dujiangyan Panda Base. Upon arrival at the destination, you go through sign-up and check-in process with the assistance of your guide. After picking up your uniform and gloves, your guide will introduce you to the professional panda keepers. Panda keepers then will guide you to meet a cute panda.
To make your experience even more magical and memorable, get up-close and personal with a giant panda as you have your photos taken with your furry friend seated next to you or while you holding it in an intimate environment. The staff at the panda base will assist you by taking photos and/or videos for you using your own equipment. So get your camera ready before the "panda holding" experience starts. The money raised from this activity will help the non-profit center continue its vital research into this endangered species. After spending some time at the panda base, you will be driven back to Chengdu.
In the afternoon, visit Wuhou Temple, a temple in memory of Zhuge Liang who was the most famous military strategist in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. Surrounded by old cypresses and classical red walls, the temple has an atmosphere of nostalgia. Then, visit Jinli ancient street, one of the oldest streets where you can appreciate the artifacts and try local snacks (at your own expense). The elegant style of architecture shows you what the original Sichuan looks like during the Qing Dynasty.
Upon completion of the tour, your will be transferred back to your hotel in downtown Chengdu.
Please note: the donation program allows you to take pictures with a panda seated next to you or in your arms for about one minute. The donation is included. Experience is limited to 30 tourists per day and it is recommended to book in advance.
