Begin the tour with a pickup from your hotel, then head to the Krusedol monastery. Built in the 16th century, it was considered one of the most beautiful monasteries of Fruska Gora. Relics from members of the holy family Brankovic are placed inside of the church. Many important people are buried there as well, such as two Serbian patriarchs and King Milan Obrenovic.
Then, travel to Staro Hopovo, which is also an endowment of the last Serbian medieval royal family, Brankovic. This 15th century monastery was deserted and destroyed during WWII. For a long time, it was nothing but a ruin, but it was restored recently, standing today as a peaceful and spiritual place, isolated from main roads and surrounded by beautiful nature.
Only few kilometers from this monastery lays Novo (new) Hopovo, a 16th century monastery. Travel directly from Novo Hopovo to Sremski Karlovci, and see the Four lions fountain, the Treasury of Patriarchy residence and St. Nicola’s orthodox cathedral. Afterwards, the tour returns to Belgrade for drop-off at your hotel.
