Private Day Tour: Chengdu to Leshan and Luocheng by Train

Embark on this full-day 10-hour tour of Leshan and Luocheng from Chengdu. In Leshan, you will take a tour of the Giant Buddha, carved out of a cliff. Then, head to Luocheng where your private guide will lead you on a city tour of the small and ancient town. Transfer to and from Leshan by a 1-hour train with a second class ticket.Meet your guide in the lobby of your central Chengdu hotel come 7:30am. From there, you will be transported to the Chengdu East Railway Station to catch the 1-hour train directly to Leshan. Upon your arrival, you will be led on a tour of the Leshan Giant Buddha Statue, built in the 8th century during the Tang Dynasty. It is located in the east of the mountain and is the joint of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. The 78-meter statue is arguably the biggest sitting Buddha in the world.

Next, make your way to Luochen Old Town, located approximately 38 miles (60 kilometer) away from Leshan. Built in 1628 in the shape of a boat, it is well-known for it's well-preserved original architecture. Wander around the small town to take photos, taste local foods, and get to know the inhabitants. Once you are done exploring, you will be transferred back to Leshan Railway Station to catch the train back to Chengdu. A driver will take you from the Chengdu Railway Station back to your hotel.
