Head out to visit the jewel of ancient Egypt, commonly known as Abu Simbel. The rock cut temples of King Ramses II await you for your first visti. Then, make your way to the Grand Temple, dedicated to Ra, the Egyptian Sun God. Afterwards, visit the small temple dedicated to the Goddess Hathor and the wife of Ramses II, Queen Nefertari. As the Queen is represented in the temple, it is a sign of her high status in ancient times.

The Temple of Abu Simbel was originally carved out the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II, in 13th century BC. This was intended to be a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari. The two massive rock temples at Abu Simbel will serve as your next tour. Finally, stroll through a village in Nubia Southern where you will witness the locals going about their daily lives.
