You will be amazed with the numerous varieties of birds and a spectacular cloud forest that you'll experience on this private tour in the mountains near Cali. Colombia has the highest number of bird species in the world, and on this fantastic birding safari you should be able to spot quite a few of them. You'll also be surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.Your morning starts early with a 5:30am pick up from your hotel. About an hour later you'll arrive at the birding trail. Close to the Km 18 of the Buenaventura road, a well-known spot for bird-watching, you may find tanagers, roadside hawks, the Andean mot mot, tucanets, and many more species.
You will do some birding in the road and then move on to the Finca Alejandría (a finca is a rural estate), one of the most important birding hot-spots in the Cauca Valley. The Finca Alejandría is one of the best places in South America for hummingbird sighting.
You will have breakfast and lunch at the finca, then at 1pm you'll head out to the Cock of the Rock farm, the place where you'll view this spectacular bird.
Your day ends in the afternoon with a drop off at your hotel around 4:30pm.
