After a short ride on the city walls, you will ride through the Freddana valley outside Lucca. Then, after a short rise, you will stop to see the landscape and have a nice and well deserved cappuccino.

After the small break, you will start riding downhill to the coast, until you reach Pietrasanta. Pietrasanta is a historic medieval and artistic town, sometimes called "The City of the Artists" or "Small Athens" for its marble studios and monuments.
The town has Roman origins but the modern town is named for its founder Guiscardo Pietrasanta. who built it in the mid-thirteenth century as part of the republic of Lucca. It's an important centre for working marble and was used as a marble source by Michelangelo. Several international artists live or work here and there are art galleries and exhibitions. Here you will enjoy a light lunch and a walk around the medieval city centre.
At the end of the walk, return to Lucca by bike.
