Depart downtown Beijing and take a 30-minute drive to reach the Changping District where the Thirteen Tombs of the Ming Dynasty are located. The Ming Tombs were the burial site for thirteen emperors from the Ming Dynasty (1409-1645). Dingling Tomb, the final resting place of the 13th Emperor Zhu Yijun who is known as the Wanli Emperor, is the only imperial tomb that has been excavated.
