Begin by riding through another world as you cruise through the Tibetan Quarter of Chengdu. Head up to the Jinjiang River and follow it past riverside gardens, where locals sip tea and show off their pet birds. Head west toward the quieter suburbs and tree lined streets that surround Huanhuaxi Park, as well as the famous Dufu's Cottage. Enjoy a brief walk through Songxianqiao Antique and Art Market for an opportunity to spot a unique souvenir or two, followed by a spin around the corner to the Taoist Qingyang Palace.
Heading North, you will cruise down the artsy Qintai Rd before you pierce the heart of Chengdu. Ride beneath the nose of the cultural revolution-era statue of Chairman Mao in Tianfu Square, followed by a visit to Wenshu Buddhist Temple. Circling back to the city centre, a visit to Kuanzhai Alleys allows for a stroll into Chengdu’s past and a bite to eat if you prefer. Following lunch, you will ride past Chengdu’s oldest park, People’s Park, before cycling south down Chengdu’s oldest thoroughfare, Renmin South Rd. Return to the original departure point by 1:30pm.
