Discover the glory of the India's Mughal Empire in this private tour, which includes transportation from accommodations in Delhi. See ancient architecture, such as the Taj Mahal, Itmad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj) Tomb and Agra Fort. Your guide will ensure that you get an in-depth experience of these UNESCO World Heritage sites.
You will be picked up from your hotel by private chauffeur at 6am for the tour. Upon arrival in Agra, your first stop will be at the magnificent Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the treasure of Mughal architecture. The Taj Mahal is perhaps the most photographed monument in the world. The perfect time to visit Taj Mahal is when you can witness magical reflections of the rising sun on its white marble.
After Taj Mahal you will continue your tour to the massive Agra Fort. Built by the Emperor Akbar, the buildings inside the fort reflect an interesting fusion of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. A maze of courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort tell the story of the Mughal Empire. Later on we will take a break to have an exquisite Indian lunch (at own expense).
After lunch you will be transferred to Baby Taj, Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, situated on the opposite bank of the Yamuna. Built between 1622 and 1628 by Empress Nur Jahan for her father, the mausoleum is often described as a jewel box. Admire the trellis work and precious stones as you listen to your guide’s commentary and learn about strong Persian influence on the tomb’s design.
In the evening you will visit Mahtab Bagh. The Moonlight Garden was an extension of the Taj Mahal Garden, located on the other side of the river. The octagonal pool and the pavilion around it are in splendid condition. Originally, the garden was planted with fragrant flowers and used as a viewpoint on the Taj Mahal, that would reflect in its pool and the river.
At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your Delhi hotel.
