Enjoy this multi-day tour which explores India's 3 major cities, known as the so-called "Golden Triangle". See India and its extraordinary melting pot of cultures and food at the hand of a local guide. Discover Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Ranthambore and the respective culture, history, cuisine and wildlife.Day 1: Arrival to Delhi
The tour begins with a pickup from the Delhi airport or other accommodations in the city. Drive to the hotel and check in, and while the room keys and check-in is being organized, you will be briefed about the tour and have time to do all needed paperwork.
Day 2: Delhi
Spend all day touring New Delhi, and visiting such sights as: Humayun’s Tomb (1586), the Qutub Minar, the Embassy area, the government buildings (1921-1930) and Connaught Place. Visit India Gate and the Jamma Mosque (1650), and drive through the fabled area of Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat.
Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur
After breakfast, you will drive to Jaipur along one of the India’s finest freeways. Upon arrival, you will check in your hotel. Later in the evening you can explore a local market. In the evening you will observe Rajasthani craft-works like block making and block printing, and Kundan jewellery-making.
Day 4: Jaipur
In the morning, visit the Amber Fort, the former capital of the royal Jaipurs, and experience a ride on painted elephants. Later visit the Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds. Then in the afternoon, proceed to visit the City Palace and Observatory and see the sights at the Solar Observatory and the Temple of Govind Dev Ji.
Day 5: Jaipur/Ranthambore
After breakfast, drive to Ranthambhore and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a jungle excursion in shared jeep or a canter (community safari vehicle).
Day 6: Ranthambhore
The morning and afternoon will be dedicated to jungle excursions in a canter. Ranthambhore is known for India's friendliest protected tigers. These nocturnal creatures are seen often also during the day. The best way to explore Ranthambore is in canter.
Day 7: Ranthambore - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Agra, stopping at the deserted capital city of Fatehpur Sikri. This abandoned capital of the Mughals is a perfectly preserved city from the height of its empire's splendor. The city divided into religious and secular parts and has interesting, well-sculpted buildings. From here continue driving to Agra. Upon arrival check into a hotel for overnight accommodations.
Day 8: Agra/Delhi
In the early morning, visit the Taj Mahal to witness the magical effects caused by the reflections of the changing colors of the rising sun on this brilliant white marble building. Later, return back to the hotel for breakfast. After a leisurely breakfast, ride to the massive Agra Fort. The elegant buildings inside were built by Emperor Akbar and reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. Later, transfer back to the original departure point via the Yamuna Express way.
