This is a challenging four days mountain hiking tour for avid trekkers. During the first two days of this tour, your guide will introduce you to Emeishan (Mt. Emei), one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China and where the renowned Hongchunping and Golden Summit (Buddhist temples) are located. Watch Buddha's rays (Kaleidoscopic like lights) beaming through the drifting clouds as if you are floating in nirvana. On the second half of this tour, you will be trekking to World Cultural and Natural Heritage sites in Qianwei, Leshan, and Jiajiang.

This is a challenging four days mountain hiking tour for avid trekkers. During the first two days of this tour, your guide will introduce you to Emeishan (Mt. Day 1 (L, D)
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8am and head to Emeishan (Mt. Emei), one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China and where the renowned Hongchunping and Golden Summit (Buddhist temples) reside. Arriving in approximately two hours at Baoguo Temple, the starting and ending point of this mild four to five hours hike, you will trek up to Wannian Temple, another oldest Buddhist establishment and enjoy your lunch there. After lunch, you will head back down to Baoguo Temple where you may take longer time to explore it as well as the nearby museum inside of the tourist information center until dinner is served. Lodging will be provided at a highly rated local guesthouse near Hongchunping.
Day 2 (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will start today's six-hour hike from Hongchunping to the Golden summit where the optical phenomenon known by locals as Buddha's rays (Kaleidoscopic like lights) beaming through the drifting clouds can be observed. Feel free to explore the Golden summit and its spectacular view until lunch is served. After lunch, you will take the gondola and local sightseeing car down from the mountain and return to Baoguo Temple. You may spend some time at Baoguo Temple until dinner is served if time allows. Hotel accommodation of the night will be at Jinrui Garden Hotel, a four stars hotel.
Day 3 (B, L, D)
Breakfast will be served in early morning prior to your departure for Qianwei where you will ride on historical Jiayan narrow gauge steam train to the valley and visit coal mining museum till lunch is served. After lunch, you have the option of hiking along the trail or take the steam train out of the valley back to Qianwei. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey onto Leshan where the world famous 233 feet giant Buddha carved out of a cliff is located. Accommodation for the night will be at Jinhaitang Hotel, a four stars hotel.
Day 4 (B, L)
After breakfast, your will visit a nearby sleeping Buddha statue before taking on zigzagging mountain trails along Leshan Giant Buddha from head to toes. Leshan Giant Buddha was carved out of a cliff along Minjiang River in Tang Dynasty which stands 233 feet tall. Location of the giant Buddha is also a good vista point to see the junction of Minjiang River, Dadu River and Qingyi River. You will have plenty of time to explore until early afternoon. After visiting Leshan Giant Buddha, you will head to Jiajiang Buddha Cliff where hundreds of Buddhist grottoes were carved along Qingyi River. A visit to local paper manufacturing museum is followed as Jiajiang is also an important paper manufacturing town in Chinese history. You will learn how ancient Chinese produced paper for daily use. After the museum visit, you will be transferred back to Chengdu airport where this four day tour ends.
