Day 1:
Tiananmen Square

Meet your guide in the lobby at 8 am to start the tour from Tiananmen Square, the biggest city-center square in the world. You will see some of the iconic buildings in Beijing, like the Front Gate, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, Monument to the People's heroes, Great Hall of the People, Tiananmen Gate and National Museum of China.

Forbidden City

Proceed north to see the Forbidden City, the place where the Ming and Qing Emperors resided for more than 500 years. It is the largest and best-preserved Imperial Palace in the world which was converted into a museum and opened to the public in 1925.

Great Wall at Mutianyu

After lunch, drive 1.5 hours to see the Great Wall of China. Then start the 1.5-3 hours hiking on Mutianyu, the most beautiful section of the Great Wall and less crowded. It was built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), on the remnants of a Wall originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Built mainly from granite, the pass at Mutianyu is an appropriately unique section of the Great Wall. With a height of 7 to 8 meters, and width of 4 to 5 meters, as well as crenellations on both sides of the Wall, the section of the Wall at Mutianyu stretches for more than 2.5 kilometers. You could choose to take the cable car for both ways, or take the chairlift up and toboggan down.

Day 2:

Temple of Heaven

Pick up at 8 am to see the Temple of Heaven where the Ming and Qing emperors performed their ritual ceremonies. Morning is the best time to see the local senior doing exercise, practicing Taichi, playing Shuttlecock, doing ground calligraphy as well as singing and dancing.

Hutong

Continue to explore Hutong, the old and narrow city alley way which witnessed hundreds of year’s history of Beijing. You will take a rickshaw and visit a local family to know something more about Beijing locals with the Hutong Guide.

Summer Palace

After lunch, drive to see the largest and best preserved imperial garden in China, the Summer Palace. Inside, you will take a boat to see the Suzhou Street, where the eunuch and concubine used to disguise as sellers for the emperor to enjoy shopping as a commoner.
