In the morning, your English-speaking tour guide and private car with driver will come to meet you at your hotel lobby.
Tiananmen Square, the biggest city center square in the whole world will be your first stop. You will also see The Great Hall of People (National Congress Hall)on the west side on the Chang'an Street, and it is also known as the “White House” in China. The National Museum is on the east side, and it used to be named Chinese History and Revolution Museum. In the center of the square, you will see Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum there. Chinese great leader chairman Mao's remain still preserved in the crystal coffin in the mausoleum.
The north edge of the square is the Tiananmen Gate, you can walk to the Forbidden City from this point. Forbidden City is the biggest and best preserved imperial palace in the world. There are 9,999.5 rooms inside. Over one million people to build this amazing palace in 600 years old, and it took total 14 years to accomplish the entire whole palace. There were total 24 emperors lived and ruled the country in this palace since Ming dynasty to Qing dynasty. You will spent a couple of hours to visit the highlight of the Forbidden City.
After the Forbidden City, your tour guide will take you to climb up the Jingshan Hill where you can overlook the entire the Forbidden City. You can also see the whole Beijing city center from here if the weather is nice.
During Lunch time, you will have some dumpling and local food as your lunch meal. In the afternoon, you will visit Temple of Heaven which is the place for past emperors to worship the God of Heaven. It's interesting to see many Chinese elders dance, sing songs or play Taiji in the square.
Day 2 (L):
Today, you will visit Mutianyu Great Wall in the morning. It's one of the seven wonders in the world. Mutianyu is about 80 kilometers away from the city center. It takes about 1.5 hours to drive there, and you will spend about 2 hours for hiking there. Your tour guide will choose a less crowded section Great Wall for you to start.
In order to save your time and energy, you will take the cable car to the half way and then you can start to hike and enjoy the beauty of Great Wall and it's surrounding.After the hiking, the lunch will be arranged at the local Chinese restaurant near by.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Imperial Garden and The Summer Palace. There are 3,000 rooms in The Summer Palace, and you will see pavilions, bridges, corridors and temples there. Beautiful scenery is everywhere you see there. On the way to the summer palace you will pass by the Olympic park, and Birdnest and Watercube are the stadiums of Beijing 2008 Olympic.
