It’s a short adventure through the jungles to a private ranch where you can feel the exotic atmosphere, silence and touch of ancient time. This tour is including your own participation in cooking master class and tasty lunch by a special ancient menu.
This culinary tour will take you back to ancient times. You will know about cuisine of different Indian tribes such as the- Maya, Azteca, Toltec, Zapotec, Mixtec. Traditions of Indian cuisine brought to the world such products as chile, tomatoe, cacao, vaina of vanilla, corn.
During this tour you will see traditional Mexican utensils, like a molcajete- Indian mortar with the pestle, made of stone; metate- stone to mill used for the processing of the seeds. You will prepare some of the dishes using “Fogon”, the main detail of ancient kitchen, “comal”- king of cooking, till our time at Mexican’s villages using it to prepare handmade tortillas. With the chef you will learn to prepare original Mexican tortillas and fill them with Oaxaca cheese and grasshoppers, as well as salbutes or panuchos – different types of tortillas filled with beans (friijol), cheese, corn, chicken, pork pieces and onion.
You will learn about traditions, food, Mexican products and techniques, flavors, chiles, etc., you will be able to try authentic prehispanic food and Maya Cuisine.
