After meeting your driver guide travel towards the stunning coastal beach of Cape Woolamai. Here you’ll learn about the short-tailed shearwaters that migrate here every year from Alaska to breed. Discover the thirteen million year old pink granite pinnacles of Phillip Island’s sheer cliff tops as you take in the stunning views along the beach. Keep an eye out for the incredibly diverse birdlife, vegetation and local surfers of this popular beach.
Next, take a scenic drive to the iconic wetlands of Rhyll; home to a migratory wading birds known to fly thousands of miles to feed on Phillip Island during the summer months. You might even see spoonbills, oyster catchers, herons, egrets and cormorants if you’re lucky. Discover the incredible mangroves as you walk along the boardwalks listening out for the birdlife or simply relax as you look across the Diamond Dolly quarry and over Western Port.
After a morning of adventure, stop for a delicious picnic lunch on Cowes jetty or beach before entering the Phillip Island Wildlife Park. Here, see and feed some of Australia’s iconic animals including kangaroos, emus, koalas, wombats, echidnas, dingoes, cassowary and the Tasmanian devil. Make sure to bring your camera along as you may even get to have your photo taken with one of the cuddly koalas.
For the more adventurous, the next stop is the world class race track, home to the Australian Moto-GP, World Superbike Championships, World Historic Racing Cars, V8 Supercar racing and many more motor enthusiast events. This racetrack is known to have an event up to 300-days a year so you may even get to witness a race or two.
Next up is a stop at Pyramid Rock. This iconic rock is a pyramid shaped basalt formation located offshore. Enjoy spare time to walk the boardwalks winding across the ridge and out over the coast.
