Then start your tour of the USS Arizona Memorial by watching the 25-minute film that provides the background for the attack. Take a short boat ride out to the memorial, which is housed in a long building that spans the submerged battleship, clearly visible in the water below. Your guide gives you time to take in the memorial before heading over to the USS Missouri.
Aboard the USS Missouri, aka Mighty Mo, view the signed document of surrender that ended the war and learn about the battleship’s wartime history as you walk along its decks and passageways. Afterward, your guide shows you the USS Oklahoma Memorial, built to commemorate the 429 people who perished when the Oklahoma sank during the Pearl Harbor attack.
Once you have seen Pearl Harbor, reboard your coach to drive through the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, aka Punchbowl National Cemetery for its location at Punchbowl Crater. Your guide shares informative commentary about the site as you take in 38,000 grave markers that pay tribute to members of the US armed forces.
