A full day, private guided hill and moorland walk in the Peak District for a group of between one and six people.

You will meet your guide at 9:30am in the Pool Cafe in Hathersage for a cup of coffee or tea (included in the price) to discuss the day and to choose your preferred walking route. There is a choice of three routes of between 9 and 12 miles starting from the village of Hathersage. It is essential that everyone who takes part wears proper walking boots and has waterproof, outdoor clothing.

Walk options will include:

Stanage and Bamford Edges Walk up the hillside and onto two of the stunning gritstone edges that the Dark Peak area is famous for. If it is a clear day, you will enjoy amazing views from the rocks of the Derwent Valley and hills beyond in one direction, and miles of beautiful heather covered moorland in the other direction. The walk is about 12 miles (19 kilometres) with about 550 metres of ascent on paths that can be rough and stony in places.

Burbage Edge and The Longshaw Estate Walk up the hillside to explore the craggy outcrops of rock known as Carl Wark and Higger Tor, then along Burbage Edge with lovely views across the Burbage Basin. You will then walk through the traditional English parkland of The Longshaw Estate, before descending through woodland to follow a pretty low level path along the bottom of the Derwent Valley back to Hathersage. The distance is about 9 miles (15 kilometres) with approx. 550 metres of ascent.

A Medley of Moorlands and the Historic Village of Eyam Explore the beautiful heather covered moorlands to the south and west of Hathersage and follow countryside paths to the historic village of Eyam to hear it's tragic story dating back to 1665. The return to Hathersage is over Eyam Moor and on a clear day there are wonderful views over the Derwent Valley to the hills and moorlands beyond. This walk is about 10 miles (16 kilometres) with about 650 metres of ascent)

Whichever walk you choose, throughout the day your friendly, professional walking guide to 'bring the countryside to life' by sharing with you a wealth of local knowledge. The walk will probably take between 6 and 7 1/2 hours depending upon the route chosen and other factors. That includes morning and afternoon breaks, a mid-day break to enjoy your packed lunch out in the countryside, and stops to look at points of interest along the route and maybe to take photographs.
