Choose a tour time, then meet your guide and hop on your electric bike in central Rome. While designed like an ordinary bicycle, your electric bike has a small motor to take the effort out of cycling up steep hills. Standard bikes are also available.
Through your 12-mile (18-kilometer) ride, follow your guide on a route away from the chaotic traffic, and take in sights such as the thermal Baths of Trajan, Rome Pantheon and the quirky Piazza of the Knights of Malta and Garden of Oranges at Aventine Hill.
Cycle through the alleyways of Trastevere to the Basilica of Santa Maria, and admire city squares such as Piazza Navona and Piazza della Bocca della Verità — home to the curious Mouth of Truth carving.
Stop for a coffee or gelato (own expense) before your ride continues through the Jewish quarter and along the 15th-century Via dei Coronari, one of the most attractive Rome streets. Pass Roman temples, the remains of the Theatre of Pompey at Largo di Torre Argentina square and Parc Adriano for a glimpse of Castel Sant'Angelo (aka the Mausoleum of Hadrian).
Climb Palatine Hill and listen as your guide describes Circus Maximus, the chariot-racing circuit of Ancient Rome. Gaze out over the Roman Forum from Capitoline Hill, and ogle panoramas of Rome and the mountainous landscape beyond it from the top of Janiculum Hill.
After five hours exploring Rome’s hills, follow your guide back to the start point to conclude your tour.
Please note: Sights may be visited in a different order to the itinerary described above.
