Pamukkale, known as the 'Cotton Castle', is a popular attraction and highlight of a holiday in Turkey. The tour will take you through the white cliffs of Pamukkale while providing you with the history of the area. You will also visit the Ancient City of Hierapolis, where you can marvel at the amazing amphitheater. First, your professional local tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Kusadasi in a private air-conditioned bus to travel to Pamukkale.

Upon arrival in Pamukkale, you will enjoy a buffet lunch. Once lunch has ended, the tour will begin at the white cliffs of Pamukkale, also known as the 'Cotton Castle' in Turkish. The water in the surrounding Pamukkale area is very high in minerals. Over millions of years, these minerals have deposited themselves over the landscape to create what you see in the present day, which has the look of a frozen waterfall coming down the mountain. The travertines are mainly protected now, however there are many that you can still walk through. The tour will take you for a walk along Pamukkale; and then you will have free time to go off and discover some hidden pools on your own or you can pay an extra charge to go in the man-made pools.

Sitting on top of Pamukkale is the Ancient City of Hierapolis. The Romans noted the healing powers of the waters of Pamukkale and set up this Ancient City as a place to come to heal one's ailments. Many even came here to see out the last of their years with the soothing waters. The tour will take you through many sites of the Ancient City, including the well-preserved amphitheater. The theater used to house up to 12,000 to 15,000 people and still is quite an impressive sight. You will also visit many temples and the best preserved Necropolis in Turkey. Extending over 1.24 miles (2 km) and with over 1,200 tombs that span over Hellenic, Roman and Christian times, you will get to really appreciate the rich history of Hierapolis.

At the end of your tour, you will be taken back to Kusadasi and dropped-off at your accommodation.
