In the early 1900s, you could snag a beachfront property for around 400 bucks, but now Pacific Beach is the boardwalk epicenter for unpretentious night clubs, coffee lounges, “shoes optional” pubs, and surf shacks.
Start your day at one of the only bars that serves fresh, unfrozen food. They literally don't have a freezer because that's how they roll! We're sure you'll notice that Pacific Beach remains a big “college town,” poet Rose Hartwick Thorpe would have agreed too.
Your guide will then take you on a casual stroll (flip flops encouraged) near Crystal Pier, an icon of Pacific Beach since its opening in 1927. After you catch your glances of beach bums and bronze beauties, head to the next tasting of freshly made smoothies & juices.
We couldn't bring you to Pacific Beach without sharing some of the "locals" favorite eats like the locals favorite pub for gourmet bites. Of course no college area is whole without a good slice of pizza and an ice cream cone. As you head back down Grand Ave, the widest street in the neighborhood and once home to the famous cable cars, catch an evening sunset that will make you want to never leave this beautiful place we call PB.
Bring your appetite and maybe some sunscreen, otherwise we'll see you in PB!
