Join a 12-hour small group tour from London to Oxford, Stratford and the Cotswolds. This tour takes you off the beaten path, through chocolate box villages, the world famous University city of Oxford and the charming country town that William Shakespeare put on the map (you don't need to be a fan to appreciate it though). Travel through some quintessential English countryside, taking some of the back roads that the big buses can't get to.Enjoy an intimate small group full-day tour of Oxford, Stratford and the Cotswolds, departing London for a scenic drive through quintessential English countryside, with a quick comfort stop on the way out of London. We head first to Stratford upon Avon, the town made famous by William Shakespeare - arguably the most famous writer in the world. Stratford is full of quirks and charms and whether you are a Shakespeare fan or not, you are sure to enjoy wiling away a couple of hours in this English country town. Perhaps you might choose to visit Shakespeare's birthplace, or soak in the atmosphere with lunch and a coffee by the river, before joining a walking tour to hear the best bits about Stratford. Finish the walking tour at the church where Shakespeare is buried, with a chance to see his grave.

From there, we then head south through the Cotswolds - an area of outstanding natural beauty that is home to rolling hills, honey colored cottages, dry stone walls and villages that could have been lifted straight off a chocolate box! We make a couple of quick stops on our journey through the Cotswolds, time for that perfect photo opportunity and for a quick stroll.

Then it's off to Oxford, nicknamed the "City of Dreaming Spires" and home to the oldest university in the English speaking world. Made up of 38 colleges, Oxford's university dominates the city, but you don't need to be an academic yourself to appreciate it. Oxford has something for everyone - from the stunning architecture littered with gargoyles, interesting history, quirky pubs and a few claims to fame thrown in for good measure too. It's little wonder that millions of people come to visit each year - and one of our guides can help bring it to life for you. Enjoy an optional walking tour (included in the price) to hear some of the history and culture of Oxford, and show you some of the best bits, before some free time to explore at your leisure - armed of course with a map and some suggestions of things to see and do.

Then make your way back to London, full of some fantastic memories and experiences from our full day together. Your guide will plan the route back into London based on where everyone is staying and do their best to make your onward journey home as easy as possible.
