Make your own way to Paddington station in central London to meet your guide. Then, hop aboard a train to Oxford, England’s famous ‘City of Dreaming Spires.’ Sit back and gaze out of the window as the capital’s urban sights give way to the rolling hills and green fields of the English countryside.

After around an hour, arrive in Oxford, and then set off on foot to discover the history-steeped city center. Amble down winding streets, taking in the grand, honey-colored buildings and your guide’s commentary as you visit some of the beautiful buildings that make up the prestigious University of Oxford.

Head inside ivy-strewn colleges and explore the lavish libraries, secret passageways and grand halls that have inspired legendary scholars such as Bill Clinton, Hugh Grant and Albert Einstein. Learn how the university is made up of some 38 colleges and see locations featured in several of the Harry Potter movies.

Visit incredible sights, including Trinity College, the Bridge of Sighs, Beaumont Palace, Oxford Town Hall and the Bodleian Library, as you learn about notable alumni and hear fascinating stories about how this amazing city survived both the rule of the Normans and Vikings invasions.

Following your tour of the university, stop in at one of the quintessentially British pubs, where you might taste an award-winning local ale (own expense). You’ll also pass the Eagle and Child pub, once the meeting place of the ‘Inklings,’ a writing group whose members included J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis.

After around three hours of sightseeing in Oxford, board your return train to London, where your tour concludes.
