Discover the story of Ancient Egypt at some of the most precious sites of southern Egypt on a 2-day tour to Luxor and Aswan from Hurghada. The package includes a night’s stay in a hotel in Aswan.Day 1: Hurghada - Luxor - Aswan
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel for the transfer to Luxor on the River Nile. As you journey along the river you will pass various towns and villages of Upper Egypt, providing you with some great impressions about the landscape and local life.

Continue to Luxor’s West Bank, stopping en route for a brief look at the 3,400-year-old Colossi of Memnon, the giant statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that once stood in front of a temple complex that was even larger than the Temple of Karnak.
Go to the Valley of the Kings to discover where the Ancient Egyptians buried their kings and nobles, and where the mummies of some of the most famous pharaohs were found. Descend to the tombs of these great rulers to see well preserved hieroglyphic stories on the walls. Next, explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most fascinating rulers of Ancient Egypt. Queen Hatshepsut’s extraordinary mortuary temple was architecturally breathtaking, with colonnaded terraces, a hypostyle hall, and dozens of statues, paintings, and reliefs.
After lunch in a local restaurant, drive to Aswan, where you will have the rest of the day at leisure to relax at your hotel or explore the city on your own.

Day 2: Aswan - Abu Simbel - Hurghada
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Twin Temples of Abu Simbel on the banks of Lake Nasser. The legendary site is where Ramses II (1290-1223 BC) ordered two sun temples to be carved from the limestone mountains, but following the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s the temples were threatened. An international team took 5 years to cut the temple into pieces and rebuild it on a higher position to protect it from the floods of the newly created reservoir.

Return to Aswan for lunch in a local restaurant before the long drive back to your hotel. With free time to explore, you can book one of the optional tours or activities, such as a felucca ride to the Aswan Botanical Gardens, tour of the High Dam, and more.
