Combine the sheer adrenaline rush of mountain biking around the beautiful World Heritage-listed Minyon Falls and a spectacular Mount Warning climb at dawn to see the first sunrise on mainland Australia. You’ll camp overnight in a tent under the stars at the base of Mount Warning and a campfire barbecue dinner is included.
Meet your mountain bike guide at the Byron Bay Visitor Centre at 9am. You will be provided with all the equipment required for your bike road through the World Heritage-listed Nightcap National Park and Minyon Falls. Scenic fire roads, stunning single track and exhilarating downhill’s await you on your ride. The pace of this 6.5 hour mountain bike tour is dependent on the group’s ability. There is approximately 3 hours of riding involved, covering between 12 and 25 kilometres. You’ll also stop for a swim and a picnic lunch at the crest of the falls along the way.
Return to Byron Bay to freshen up before continuing on to Mount Warning for your overnight stay and to prepare for your spectacular sunrise hike.
It is time to recharge after a day of mountain biking and to prepare for the pre-dawn assent of Mount Warning. Lay back in the sub-tropical jungle at the base of the mountain or take a swim in a rock pool whilst an enormous BBQ dinner is prepared for you. Finish your day sitting around a campfire, toasting marshmallows and sharing the excitement of your day with your new friends.
Spend the night in a tent under the stars and then arise before dawn, munch down a delicious breakfast and start your self-guided 4 hour (return) walk to the top. With 360 degree views from the hinterland to the ocean, it never fails to inspire!
After returning to the campsite, you’ll be returned to Byron Bay at approximately 9:30am.
