7:30-8am - You will be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi
12:30pm - Welcome aboard the Alova Gold with a specialty cocktail before a safety briefing and a check in to your private cabin.
3pm - Lay anchor in a cove of Tung Gau, with hidden archipelagos and a dramatic natural scenery that larger ships can't enjoy. This is a pristine place with a unique ecosystem that is rarely visited by strangers. Among the range of spectacular rock formations within the jade water is a primitive floating house which serves as home for a warm and engaging fishers. Take a trip with the local fishers and learn the traditional techniques while netting a fish yourself. Explore the splendid, untouched sights of Tung Gau archipelagoes by kayak and enjoy a leisurely swim before returning to the boat.
5pm - Sunset cruise to the other part of the bay while sipping on cocktails for a "buy one, get one free" happy hour on the top deck.
6:30pm - We slip into quiet anchorages for where you will spend the night, but not before you get to experience a cooking demonstration.
7pm - Enjoy a dinner with exquisite Vietnamese cuisine and discuss the day's events and prepare for the next day of exploration. The first day ends with a romantic night at the bar before you retire to your comfortable cabin.
Overnight on board the cruise
Day 2: Halong to Cat Ba and return to Hanoi (B, L)
7am - Start your morning right with a delicious Captain’s breakfast.
8am - Enjoy a bus ride through the wild site of Cat Ba Island.
8:20am - Visit the Army Hospital Cave on Limestone Mountain, a remnant from Vietnam War. You will meet a witness of the war that lived a part of interesting history. Due to the heavy bombing, a secret bomb-proof hospital and shelter was built to house the Vietcong leaders, inside a cave and high up on one of the many limestone karsts that dominate the island.
10am - Return to the ship to check out of the cabin and say goodbye to the crew and enjoy a scenic cruise toward Tuan Chau Port.
11:30am - Disembark the cruise and enjoy a Vietnamese lunch at the Hong Chau restaurant.
12:30pm - Board the bus for the trip back to Hanoi.
4:30pm - You will be dropped off at your accommodation in the Old Quarter to conclude the tour.
