This small group trip, led by a local aboriginal guide is a fantastic and unique way of exploring and learning about the history and culture of Gregory's Gorge, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Take a journey with your aboriginal tour guide Clinton into the birth place of Aboriginal culture. Gregory's Gorge is the place where the Marrga (creation beings) handed down all their knowledge to the Ngarda-ngali (Aboriginal people) during the time known as Ngurra-Nyujunggamu (when the world was soft).
You will be immersed into the cultural heritage of the Yindjibarndi people through experiencing sacred sites, their songs and stories, as well as visiting rock art sites and artifact scatters.
After a long day of learning, relax and unwind in spectacular pools. You will then spend the evening camping under the stars learning about the stories associated with the constellations and how these stories assisted Clinton's ancestors to survive in the outback.
Your tour guide has extensive cultural knowledge of the areas surrounding Karratha and will share with you over 50,000 years worth of history and knowledge of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people.
Please Note: There are no bathroom facilities at Gregory's Gorge
