Victoria's Great Ocean Road is a must see natural wonderland and can be seen through a bus window in one day but what would it be like if you could experience this amazing coastline as it was meant to be done in two days on foot as you explore by bike and hike.Day 1:
A 1.5 hr drive down to the Surf Coast where, after morning tea, you begin riding a bike 20km along The Surf Coast Trail, riding past Australia's premier surf beaches such as Torquay and Bells Beach.
You can ride on the beach at low tide to Torquay or ride on the trail. Your supporter will not be far away and will point you in the right direction. Finish riding at Point Addis to a waiting Aussie BBQ lunch, then drive further along the road (it's too dangerous to ride a bike on) and stop at lighthouse and hilltop lookouts, spot koalas in the wild in Otway National Park and explore more of this area before dinner and an overnight stay in the seaside village of Apollo Bay.
Day 2:
Drive further along the road to stop for a short rainforest walk before heading to Princetown for morning tea. It is here that you join the last section of The Great Ocean Walk to hike 7km and arrive at The 12 Apostles before the afternoon day tripper traffic.
Your supporter will transport you to other natural attractions in the area that the tourist buses do not go to such as Thunder Cave, The Grotto, Head of the Gellibrand River. The 3-hour drive back to Melbourne is a good chance to rest up and relax after your amazing adventure.
