It is the city's best weapon against the realities of Chicago's harsh winter.The "Original Taste of the Pedway" Tour begins at 10:00 am every other Thursday at 111 East Wacker - inside lower lobby. This tour combines an exploration of the Pedway, great stories featuring Chicago history and architecture, trivia games, prizes and the best tastes found only in the Pedway all rolled into one amazing experience!
Guests begin the tour by exploring the Pedway for about 45 minutes to build up a pleasant appetite! Along the way, our tour guides entertain guests with great stories about Chicago's past and present while challenging them to a one-of-a-kind food trivia challenge. Guests compete for prizes so plan on coming prepared to show your stuff!
The tour's first stop is at the incomparable "SNARF's" featuring their famous Chicken Mambo spicy Chili. From SNARF's the tour continues this "Urban Safari" as it winds its way through hidden corridors of the Pedway. Next stop is Chicago's best flavored popcorn at Chicago Kernel located in Millennium Station. This irresistible Popcorn comes in resealable bags so guests can enjoy some right then or they can bring home for a future snack.
After a quick stop at the Chicago Cultural Center for some good storytelling, the tour proceed to Infield's located in the lower level of Macy's Department Store. While guests sit comfortably in their special seating area, they choose between a couple items including Infield's inimitable smoked turkey sandwich on cinnamon bread with cranberry mayo. Yum! As a bonus, guests also receive a taste of their famous brownie for the ultimate sweet treat. Next up is the exceptional tastes found only at Whichwich located in Block 37. This stop includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options including their one-of-a-kind Caprese Sandwich.
For a change of pace and another unique taste, the tour's next stop is at the Starfruit Cafe for a frozen Kefir. Guests choose from a variety of flavors that change daily. After quick stops at the Daley Center and City Hall, guests relish their final food taste stop at the unparalleled MBURGER for either a delicious cheeseburger or flavored milkshake.
