One Tank Manta Ray Night Dive

The Manta night dive is an exhilarating underwater experience that is unique to the Kona Coast and one of the top night dives of the world! The manta rays are not seasonal animals and are on the islands all year round. This local operator boasts a success rate of over 85% in viewing the manta rays.This tour begins in the late afternoon at the Honokohau Harbor slip #32.5. Meet time is dependent upon the setting of the sun, between 4-5:30pm. Divers can sign an electronic waiver prior to the activity or go to the shop to sign a paper waiver. All divers are required to show proof of certification. The Captain will give a safety briefing prior to departing the harbor. There is a 30 minute boat ride to the manta site. You will be on the water to watch the sunset and be briefed on manta ray behavior, interaction, and safety.

You will enter the water approximately 25 minutes after sunset. The dive guide will escort the divers underwater to where they will settle down in approximately 30ft of water. The divers will settle down on the bottom of the ocean floor and shine their dive lights up to attract the plankton. The dive is a timed dive of 45-50 minutes. The dive guide will escort the divers back to the boat where they will enjoy hot chocolate for the boat ride back to the harbor.
