Explore the wonderful old city of Bangkok on a half-day walking tourGet up close and personal on this half-day walking tour in the wonderful city of Bangkok.
We pick you up from your hotel around 8am and take you to our first stop Wat Ratchanatdaram – this temple is most popular for Loha Prasat the brazen palace, which is a multi-tiered 36-metre high structure. It is one of only three brazen palaces that still exist in the world.
We then take a short walk to Golden Mount, which is located in the compound of Wat Saket. Built by King Rama IV, this golden chedi can be reached by a 344-step spiral stairway. While on top, you'll have a wide view of the older part of Bangkok. Next up is Baan Bat, Baan Bat is the last of a series of villages established in the 18th century by King Rama I to create the monk bowls.
We then take you to Giant Swing “Sao Ching Cha". It has references to the Hindu religion which came to Thailand about 1,500 years ago and it is located just outside Wat Suthat. Wat Suthat itself is one of the most important and one of the oldest temples of the Rattanakosin era in Bangkok. It is one of the six temples in Thailand of the highest grade of the first class Royal temples.
Enjoy a short break for coffee or soft drink. We then visit the Tiger God Shrine “Sarn Chao Por Seua”, Chao Por Seua is dedicated to the spirit of a tiger who once lived in the jungle surrounding this area. The shrine is very active and festivals, operas, and puppet shows are held here year round. We then walk to Ratchadamnoen Klang Road and transfer back to your hotel.
