This is a seasonal day trip to experience a ride on the Oigawa Railway on the "Thomas the Tank Engine" train. As "Thomas the Tank Engine" is a famous television series ever since the 1980's, adults and children alike can enjoy this tour that allows you to experience the realistic side of the story in real life and explore more about "Thomas."
Please note: This tour is seasonal and runs yearly between August and September depending on the area. The date is subject to change.This is a one day trip for you to experience the train ride at the Oigawa Railway of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" train at Shizuoka Prefecture. "Thomas the Tank Engine" Train at the Oigawa railway brings your childhood dreams to life!
Once you meet at the departure location, you will be picked up by the coach bus and head to Senzu Station, which will take about 4 hours. On the way, the coach bus will stop by a rest stop for a few minutes. Once you arrive to Senzu Station, you will get started by riding on the Oigawa Railway "Thomas the Tank Engine" train for about an hour and 15 minutes. You can explore the inside of the train and perhaps find some surprises along the way.
This tour has an optional box lunch option which will be served around 2pm. You can enjoy the meal on the "Thomas the Tank Engine" train. There are two choices for the optional box lunch: the "Thomas the Tank Engine" box lunch, a fun meal for children: Thomas springs out of the lunch box, or the "Oigawa Furusato Lunch Box," a lunch box for adults including sweet simmered food, stewed vegetables, tsukudani (food boiled in soy sauce) and many other Japanese home-style dishes.
*Please note: your lunch order must be placed at least 7 days prior to the departure. Payment will be settled in cash on the day of departure.
Your train will arrive then at the Shin-Kagaya Station where the coach bus will pick you up and drive you back on a 3.5 hour bus ride to Tokyo.
