A Segway allows you to cover more ground than walking while enjoying fresh air and the flexibility to cruise through narrow passages and stop as often as you like. Choose from a 1, 1.5 or 2-hour tour and begin your Segway adventure in central Nîmes where you’ll meet your local guide and get comfortable riding the self-balancing electric scooter with a 15-minute training.
1-Hour Tour
The Tour begins directly with the monumentals Arènes de Nîmes where it is possible to take a picture in front of it. Continue on to the esplanade Charles De Gaulle which is a quiet place with a fountain, people and garden. Here you will learn to drive the Segway with different obstacles. After that, go into the old city with many squares, fantastic churches and authentic shops. Your guide will share historical facts, stories and food specialties about Nîmes along the way. See the gorgeous roman Maison carrée built during the first century, and the modern Carré d’Art built by Norman Foster. Before concluding, cross the oldest street of Nîmes, the Street Fresque with Spanish art, some restaurant and bar.
1.5-Hour Tour
This tour follows the same itinerary as above until Maison carrée and Carré d'Art, after which you will continue on to Place d’Assas a square with restaurants, a nice fountain and decorations. Follow the docks of Jardin De La Fontaine. In front of the gates there is a nice view of the quiet garden, big fountain and la Tour Magne Roman tower. After all that, it's time to come back to the agency by the the oldest street of Nîmes, the Street Fresque with Spanish art, some restaurant and bar.
2-Hour tour
This tour follows the same itinerary as above until Jardin de la Fontaine, here after a little break you’ll have a chance to maximize the Segway’s power and cruise at speeds up to 12 mph (20 kph) to cross the long and nice Avenue Jean Jaures and watch the Pyramid and the Bull Tower and finish the segway tour by the discover of an authentic roman gate “Porte de France” and come back by the arenas.
