Just an hour away from London is one of England's emerging wine regions - Sussex. English wines are quickly gaining popularity and this fantastic full-day tour gives you the chance to discover them. During the day you will visit the following three vineyards and wineries and enjoy a delicious 2-course English lunch in a pub.
Blackboys Vineyard is unexpectedly situated on a tiny residential lane, and home to Anthony and Zena Budd, producers of the spectacular Tickerage sparkling wines. The experience they offer is truly unique and you will be welcomed like a member of the family. After strolling around the vineyard with Anthony and Tango the dog, you will have the opportunity to taste wines from the Tickerage range at either the kitchen table, or on the amazing sun deck (weather permitting). Blackboys may be one of the smallest commercial vineyards in the UK, but its size is deceptive.
Bluebell Vineyard Estate is is one of the region’s leading sparkling wine producers, its Hindleap range boasting an impressive medal haul from international competitions. Situated within an area of outstanding natural beauty, the vineyard and winery tour is picturesque as well as informative. Your host Collette will explain the annual cycle of viticulture and winemaking events, before offering a chance to sample the product itself in the newly-renovated tasting room.
Rapidly establishing itself as a food and wine education centre, the impressive Kingscote Estate also produces its own still and sparkling wines on site. Following a tour of its state-of-the-art winery (shared with Blackboys Vineyard), you will be able to sample Kingscote’s acclaimed still wines (the sparkling is still in development) in the modern tasting room or on the lawn outside the stunning 15th century tithe barn visitors centre.
