This exciting and easy bike tour offers a new way to experience New York City at night. You’ll wind through 7 miles (11.3 km) of parks, streets and pathways to see some of the Big Apple’s most iconic landmarks, illuminated by the city lights and the night sky. Cruise through Central Park, along the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir and past the awe-inspiring Guggenheim Museum. This seasonal offering (May through September) keeps its groups small for a freewheeling and personal experience of the city after dusk. New York may be full of walkable streets perfect for strolling past shops and through parks by day, but it has a different beauty at night: twinkling city lights and smaller crowds. Strap on a helmet and hop on a hybrid rental bike, and get ready for this easy 7-mile (11.3-km) coast throughout the Big Apple.

Your 2.5 hour bike cruise with a small group begins at 8pm in Columbus Circle. From there, you’ll ride around Central Park, the most visited park in the U.S., for a look at some of its most famous sights, especially beautiful when they are illuminated at night.

You’ll circle the iconic Belvedere Castle, Central Park’s own historic stone palace, and bike over small bridges and along winding verdant paths glowing from the streetlights. Pedal over to the Bethesda Fountain for a closer look at a part of Central Park’s early history, unveiled in 1873, and admire the detailed craftsmanship of the famous fountain.

Get a new perspective on the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, which covers 106 acres (43 hectares), as it’s set against the backdrop of the sparkling city and dark night sky.

Follow your guide’s lead across the park and up the avenues to the iconic and futuristic Guggenheim Museum. From there, you’ll pass many other landmarks and towering buildings as you follow your guide through the cool night streets, before concluding back at Columbus Circle.

This tour is available May through September. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for easy to moderate activities.
