Savor tasty cocktails in the French Quarter of New Orleans on a walking tour with an expert local guide. Visit hidden gems enjoyed by locals for centuries, learning from your fun and knowledgeable guide about the historic venues you see and legendary cocktails you sip. Discover the origins of the grasshopper, learn the truth about absinthe, and sample a Sazerac concocted from a 19th-century recipe. Each stop features two classic cocktail choices, mixed by renowned bartenders who add a signature twist. It's a perfect tour for cocktail and culture enthusiasts! Meet your guide at Evangeline’s, a restaurant of Louisiana-style cuisine in New Orleans, to start your tour. Your guide, a New Orleans native nicknamed Doctor Gumbo, presents a fun and fascinating introduction to New Orleans’ cocktail culture as you sip your first drink. Choose from either a classic French 75 or a Ginger Mint Julep for a twist on a Southern standard. Enjoy your drink in the tropical courtyard, weather permitting.

Next, turn the corner to visit SoBou, where you sample one of two variations of the official cocktail of New Orleans: Sazerac, a drink that comes from a 19th-century recipe. Try either the modern rye whiskey version, or the slightly sweeter, classic version with brandy.

En route to your third destination, learn the cocktail-related history of the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and Napoleon House. Then step into the luxurious Bourbon "O" Bar, located inside the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. Your beverage choices here are either a local craft beer, or the little-known Roffignac cocktail. Made from a 19th-century recipe, the Bourbon "O" Bar makes their refreshing Roffignac with homemade raspberry syrup and brandy.

After soaking up the luxe Bourbon O, pass by an absinthe bar where your guide explains the story of this legendary liquor. Then continue to your final destination of the tour: Tujague’s. Serving food and drink since 1856, Tujague’s invented the Grasshopper Cocktail. Sip one of the sweet, velvety grasshoppers, or try the Vieux Carré cocktail, a combination of rye whiskey, brandy, bitters and sweet vermouth.

Expect to walk about one mile during your 3-hour tour in a friendly social atmosphere inspired by your entertaining guide. Four cocktails are included, one at each stop. Delicious food can be purchased if you want a bite to eat. Some venues have a dress code, and tank tops for men are discouraged. Your tour ends at Tujague’s, and then you can explore the lively nightlife of nearby Frenchmen Street on your own.
